One pan pasta is a pasta meal you can make over a camp stove or inside. It’s a nice light meal for lunch or dinner, all in one pan with little clean up. It’s easy enough for scouts to make and tasty enough that they won’t turn up their noses.

I’m Scoutmaster Dave and today we’re gonna make a one pot pasta the ingredients of this one pot pasta you can see over here start with some spaghetti or linguine your choice it really doesn’t matter whatever you’d like you can have some cherry tomatoes so one onion six cloves of garlic some red pepper flakes some sprigs of basil some olive oil some ground pepper add some water and some grated cheese on the app so this can be done in the outdoors as well as on the stove today I’m doing it inside on the stove so the first thing that we’re going to do is we’re going to cut up our ingredients so we’re going to start by cutting up our garlic I’m gonna do is we’re gonna chop this nice and fat so what I’m gonna do is I’m going to use my finger as a guide this nice let’s move on to our onion which also needs to be slice bit the key to this recipe is slicing everything in light so this recipe is very much like making the dump kick what you’re going to do is you’re going to take all your ingredients and you want to place it into black panel I’ve taken the pasta and put the pasta in the pan as you can see here I’m going to take about four cups of water I’m gonna take my garlic and my audience better write them then I’m going to take my tomatoes and
I’m going to cut these in half if they’re large you should cut them into quarters but these are a small thick this put it in with the rest all going in the pan at the same time I’ve added my pasta I’ve added my tomatoes my onion my garlic now I’m going to add my seasoning 1/2 to 3/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes a little bit pepper basil that in there and then we have some salt as well all that in one pan using simply a knife and a cutting board no other pots of pans involved in about 2 to 3 tablespoons so and that’s it so all we’re going to do now is we’re going to turn this off and we’re going to bring this to a boil over high heat and then we’re gonna let it go for about 8 minutes and we’re going to turn it frequently with some tongs okay now that my mixture is boiling as you can say what you want to do is we want to make sure to keep mixing it
I’m gonna do this on the high heat this could easily be done on a camp stove
and what you’re looking to do here is you’re looking for most of the water to boil off so we’re gonna let this go for about nine minutes and we’ll wait for it to thicken up when most of the water is going to evaporate
[Applause]
as you can see the salsas starting to thicken up a little bit and ones like a nice light meal that you can take it out to the outdoors and you could easily spice this up a little bit if you were going to add say a sausage that to cook separately and slice in and add to it if you wanted to add some protein to it but this makes a nice light alternative and that’s easy to produce so it’s been about time and we could turn off our pasta and finish it off nice and simple easy meal we taste some of our pasta we swirl it into the plate like so and we top it off with the Parmesan cheese
now there we go that’s our meal I’m Scoutmaster Dave take what you like leave the rest as we save what bad feedback is a gift leave yours below in the comments with all the ho we can learn together
