Show off your critter bling in this exploration of wood badge critter gear
Transcript:
For those of you who have taken woodbadge you know that as part of the course you are put into a patrol, and each patrol on the course has a critter associated.
Members of woodbadge patrols get very attached to their critter, and begin to accumulate lots of critter swag and other representations of their sprit animal.
Now, its all in good fun, and makes the experience even more fun if you get into the connectedness between those that have taken the course prior by proudly wearing a patrol patch representing your critter.
But like I mentioned it doesn’t end there.
For each of the critters there’s lots to choose from, designed specifically for the program as well as animal gear well outside of the program.
Whatever your animal, Beaver – Bobwhite – Eagle – Fox – Owl – Bear – Buffalo or Antelope, you can find t shirts, patches, stuffed animals, hats, cookies, slippers, neckerchief slides, signs, charms, and all manner of crafts dedicated to your critter. Some folks go to great lengths to show their critter love.
Through woodbadge you not only become attached to your critter, but also to your woodbadge patrol, and it’s amazing how close you become over a short series of days.
So next time you are shopping for your signifigant other, and don’t know what to buy. If they have taken woodbadge you can always find something that is personal and meaningful to them by adding to their pile of critter gear.
Take what you like and leave the rest, and as we say in Woodbadge, feedback is a gift, leave yours below in the comments, with the hope we can all learn together.
I’m Scoutmaster Dave, and this a bit about woodbadge critters.
